Moroccan Vintage Hand-Knotted Boujad Rug 1039 // 266 x 180cm
Warm, intricate and full of character - this vintage hand-knotted Boujad rug is one of those pieces that rewards a closer look. Its naturally faded design in peach and red, with cream and grey detailing woven throughout, has the quality of something aged to perfection: the colours soft and lived-in, the pattern rich with the kind of detail that only comes from a skilled pair of hands.
Boujad rugs originate from the Khouribga region of central Morocco, made by Berber women of the Boujad tribe who have passed their weaving traditions down through generations. As a vintage piece, the colours here have mellowed beautifully over time - the reds warming to peach, the tones settling into one another in a way that gives the whole rug a gentle, sun-drenched quality that simply cannot be replicated in a new piece.
This rug was individually selected by us from our trusted network of artisans and rug experts in Marrakech and the Atlas Mountains - family businesses with generations of knowledge. Woven from 100% naturally dyed wool with a short pile, it sits flat and close to the floor, making it ideal both as a standalone statement piece and for layering.
At 266 x 180cm it is a generously proportioned rug that brings immediate warmth and softness to a room. Its earthy peach and red tones work particularly beautifully in spaces with natural wood, terracotta, or warm neutral tones.
