Moroccan Vintage Hand-Knotted Boujad Rug 1024 // 285 x 162cm
Some rugs stop you in your tracks, and this vintage Boujad is one of them. An all-over ombré green - soft yet vibrant, shifting through subtle undertones of blue and cream as the light moves across it. This is a colourway that is exceptionally hard to find in a vintage piece of this quality and condition. Natural green dyes fade and change over decades in a way that synthetic colours simply cannot replicate, and the result here is something truly alive: a rug that looks different in morning light than it does in the evening, and that will only become more beautiful with time.
Boujad rugs originate from the Khouribga region of central Morocco, made by Berber women of the Boujad tribe who have passed their weaving traditions down through generations. As a vintage piece, this rug has already lived a full life - and that history is embedded in every knot.
This rug was individually selected by us from our trusted network of artisans and rug experts in Marrakech and the Atlas Mountains - family businesses with generations of knowledge. Woven from 100% naturally dyed wool with a short pile, it is soft underfoot and sits beautifully flat - ideal as a statement living room rug or a striking addition to a bedroom.
At 285 x 162cm it is a well sized piece, and its extraordinary colour makes it the kind of rug you build a room around.
